Funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program, SEE:4C’s multi-nodal collaboration is framed by the Transnational Education initiative entitled Developing Shared Knowledge (TNE-DeSK), which involves a consortium of 10 Italian universities coordinated by the University of Bari Aldo Moro, and 68 international partners, 16 of those located in South-East Europe, 6 in Turkey, and 46 in Latin America.

The TNE-DeSK project advances smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth by sharing educational best practices and conducting research. It supports digital transformation and fosters the green transition, in line with the European Union’s objectives. The team conducted most of the work shown on this site within DeSK Work Package 7 (Green Transition). The activities covered disciplines such as urban economics, geography, urban planning, and architectural and urban design to develop innovative approaches for climate mitigation and adaptation. The project aims to reconcile sustainable development with the preservation of architectural heritage, enhance urban governance, and create tools for climate adaptation.

By collecting key project results and providing an accessible platform for interested researchers, thus ensuring maximum engagement, exploitation, and sustainability amongst key stakeholders, this website is part of a larger effort to consolidate international partnerships between Italian and South-Eastern European universities and generate exposure to the TNE-DeSK project.

Throughout the exchange, the Department of Architecture and Design at Politecnico di Torino (PoliTO DAD) acted as a hub for activities documented on this site, providing institutional, administrative, and scientific support throughout the project.
