Bežanija Blocks

Behind the concrete walls of the Bežanija Blocks, New Belgrade, the cumulative traces of everyday life have been remaking domestic space since the Late Socialist period. Instead of lingering on the monumental image of the “Pannonian sailboats,” the familiar Brutalist skyline read from the outside, we moved inward, tracing how ownership regimes, privatization, fragmentation of formerly unified housing stock, evolving tenancy rights, and shifting household compositions register at the scale of rooms, thresholds and furniture.
