This diagrammatic deconstruction of Skopje’s urban complexity uses the “research-by-drawing” approach, analyzing the genealogy of significant open spaces within the concrete fabric of the city’s“Small and Big Rings” and the city’s commodifications over time. This particular matrix traces the transformations of the cultural hub, the Macedonian Opera and Ballet Square.
